It's a MOST wonderful time of the year!

Hi Folks,
A new ADDITION to the African Gems and Minerals family,  EDEN ON THE BAY MARKET, BIG BAY BEACH - BLOUBERG, CAPE TOWN.

We are now trading at the EDEN ON THE BAY MARKET every Sunday from 9am to 4pm. This exciting venue with Post Card vews of TABLE MOUNTAIN, CAPE TOWN and ROBBEN ISLAND. So if you live there or are planning a visit do come and see us EVERY SUNDAY.

We have also unpacked some very exciting international Fossils with our recent collections, for example we have large Turritella, beautiful well defined Trilobite, Belemnite, Coprolithe, Fossil Fish.  All specimens are excellent quality and well defined examples.  Also in the collection are some very unusual and beautiful Ammonites, some of them black. We also have Sand Dollars and Sharks Teeth as well as our own stock of Fossil Fish. 

Our visit to the Mineral Symposium left our team inspired and our mineral expert Garth Blake has put together another showcase of outstanding specimens from Tsumeb, Mexico, KMF, Zimbabwe, DRC, Berg Aukas and of course Africa. Including a rare Berg Aukas Smithsonite. All on stands and an excellent example of how they can sit in your own cabinets at home.
It will leave you drooling come in and look!

WHATS ON in December

Sam was interviewed on Radio Today by Katharine Lee last week about crystals and crystal healing and we spoke alot on the subject of Clear Quartz, the Master Healing Crystal which is so often overlooked! When I was deciding what to write about this month I felt that no other crystal would be more relevant than Star Quartz, this crystal originating from Madadgascar is clear quartz with Hollandite inclusions, the Hollandite forms pretty black stars within the Quartz, it has been said that the energy is magical, full of fun, reminiscent of fairies and fireflies. Very often at this time of year we are stressed and bogged down in the details of DOING, rushing, waiting, hurrying up, worrying and we don't ta ke time to BE, to have fun and laugh, this little crystal reminds you to slow down and smell the roses, removing stress, frustration and cleansing the energy field - now who couldn't do with some of that?

We have unpacked KILOS of Iceland Spar, Optical Calcite. This beautiful form of Calcite I believe is the most powerful in terms of healing, due to the clarity and the property of double refraction it is used to great effect for journeying inside and seeing the reasons for illness. Calcite releases electrical impulses when placed under pressure and although it is not programmable in the way that Quartz is it can be used to amplify feelings of goodwill towards others. It detoxifies on many levels and has the effect of clearing and continuing to clear when placed on the body. Calcite will not hold negativity and will only amplify that which is in-line with Divine Will. 

MINERAL OF THE MONTH

Lapis Lazuli is the birthstone for December. We have some beautiful Lapis jewellery boxes, as well as rough pieces and large ornamental specimens as well as carvings. All to celebrate a December birthday.
